Comedians do karaoke, backed by a live band!

Karaoke Circus house band (Danielle Ward, Martin White, Foz Foster and David Reed) are joined on stage by a variety of performers from the world of comedy and beyond. Furthermore, open mic spots are available for members of the audience to be the singer in a band for a night, with a prize for the best performance awarded by resident judges Dan Maier and The Baron.

Ward and White met at Robin Ince’s Book Club at the Albany, where Martin would play songs on the accordion and Danielle would pretend to be Adam Ant. A firm friendship was formed and together they wrote the Edinburgh hit musical ‘A Thing You Have Heard Of : The Musical’. It was an instant smash “The best show at the fringe. I love it because I’ve heard of the story so it doesn’t confuse me like a made up thing would”. A Cretin, Scotland On Sunday

It was here the idea for Karaoke Circus began to gestate, but a band cannot be made of simply bass and accordion. Not unless it’s a weak-ass band. However Ward and White wanted rock and roll, not shameless whimsy. They needed a full line up.
